Once you are done, you can head on over to Windows Explorer. Then check the icon for your USB flash drive.
Your Drive icon should look like the image below. To open your drive, just double click and input your encryption key and boom your drive will be unlocked.
There should be a padlock on it to indicate that the content is secure. Double-click on the icon will now prompt you to enter a password.
It is at this point that you need to remember your password.

How To Password Protect A Flash Drive.
For this tutorial, we'll be making use of a windows encryption system software called BitLocker.Now to encrypt your hard-disk, Follow These Steps Below:
- Connect the flash drive to one of the USB ports on your computer.
- Open the Windows Control and Search for Bitlocker or Reduce your icon viewing type to small icons
- Scroll down to the lower section and then select the down arrow button as shown below. Then select Turn on BitLocker.
- Wait for the initialization screen to commence
- After the initialization screen, click on use a password to unlock drive after which you will asked you to add and confirm your password.
- Once it’s done, click Next.
- On the next screen that will be displayed, specify how you would like to keep your recovery key safe. It's advisable you save it to a file/location within your computer system.
- On the next screen that is going to display, select Encrypt Entire Drive, and move to the next page.
- Below Choose Which Encryption Mode, select Compatible Mode.
- Finally, hit Start Encrypting to begin securing your flash drive.
- The finally wait for the encryption screen to be through.
- Expect a screen similar to these after your encryption is done and dusted.
Once you are done, you can head on over to Windows Explorer. Then check the icon for your USB flash drive.
