Now to perform a Full or Deep Scan, follow these steps.
  •  In the area below the "Current Threats" option, click on the "Scan Options" and it should display four (4) different scan options which you can carry out on your computer system using the Windows Defender Antivirus.
Explanation Of the Four Different Scans

  • Quick Scan: Performs a quick scans of folders in your system where threats are mostly found. Locations such as the Downloads and Windows folders are looked into rather hastily. This usually takes only but a few minutes to complete.
  • Full Scan: This particular scan types looks into every file on your computer system and all running and installed programs as well. The scan usually take more than an hour to complete because of the amount of files and programs to be scanned and analyzed.
  • Custom Scan: This option allows you choose a specific file or folder location that you’d like to scan.
  • Microsoft Defender Offline Scan: This option restarts your machine or pc and scans system files and programs while they are not yet running, This particular scan is useful if a piece of malware or virus is currently running actively and is potentially interfering with the Defender's scan.

TIP: I strongly advise that if you haven't scanned your PC using Windows Defender before, i think it’s best you start with a Full scan. Just click on the “Full Scan” option and click the “Scan Now” button and A full-system scan will begin, and Windows Security will show a progress indicator bar just like in the image below. i think now you're on your way to making your PC malware and threat free.
